It possesses a phosphomonoester polar head group and two long hydrophobic acyl chains. NBD PA is a fluorescently labelled lipid with the fluorophore, 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl (NBD) at the sn-2 fatty acid of PA.
