Descrição detalhada : Hyocholic acid, also called the 3?,6?,7?-trihydroxy-5?-cholanoic acid, is synthesized by the 6?-hydroxylation of chenodeoxycholic acid. It is a primary trihydroxylated bile acid associated with pigs. It is a minor bile acid in humans. Hyocholic acid is also synthesized from ?-muricholic acid (MCA) in liver by the action of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4).
