Descrição detalhada : Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAPII) is a 22 kDa pro-inflammatory cytokine that regulates TNFbeta signaling. The mature EMAPII is formed from a functional EMAPII precursor protein in response to apoptosis, and other forms of cell stress. Previous studies have reported that it may decrease the growth of tumors by inhibiting angiogenesis. EMAPII has also been implicated in autoimmune diseases. However, EMAPII is also involved in a range of normal biological processes. It is a component of the multisynthase complex that binds tRNA and plays an essential role in protein translation, and may also play a role in lung development.
