Assurance(R) GDS is an automated nucleic acid amplification system for the detection of pathogenic organisms in foods, ingredients, and environmental samples. As part of the sample preparation, the proprietary GDS PickPen(R) is designed to transfer magnetic particles when working with Assurance(R) GDS pathogen detection kits. The incorporation of the GDS PickPen(R) in the immunomagnetic separation (IMS) process improves the procedure by concentrating the target pathogen while decreasing the carryover of background microflora from a wide range of food matrices without compromising the sensitivity.
