Descrição detalhada : RNA Helicase A, also known as DEAH box protein 9 (mHEL-5), DHX9, or Nuclear DNA helicase II (NDH II), and encoded by the mouse gene Dhx9, is a component of the CRD-mediated mRNA stability complex. The CRD-mediated complex is a protein complex that binds to, and promotes stabilization of, mRNA molecules containing the coding region instability determinant (CRD). In humans, it consists of IGF2BP1 and at least four additional proteins: HNRNPU, SYNCRIP, YBX1, and RNA Helicase A. RNA Helicase A operates by unwinding dsDNA and RNA in a 3' to 5' direction. Additionally, RNA Helicase A acts as a transcriptional activator and interacts with LARP6 which is a protein that has been associated with fasting glucose traits, type 2 diabetes and obesity as well as the stabilization of collagen mRNAs for CO1A1 and CO1A2. RNA Helicase A is localized to the nucleolus within the nucleus but can also be found in the cytoplasm localized in cytoplasmic mRNP granules containing untranslated mRNAs and thus the protein shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm depending upon the microenvironment.
