Descrição detalhada : Left-right determination factor 1 (LEFTY1) also known as Left-right determination factor B, Protein lefty-1, Protein lefty-B, and encoded by the gene name LEFTYB, LEFTY1, LEFTB, is a member of the the TGF-beta family. LEFTY1 collaborates with other members of the TGFbeta (Transforming Growth Factor) family to establish a left-right axis that dictates the asymmetrical distribution of internal organs during vertebrate embryogenesis. Mice deficient in LEFTY1 are affected by pulmonary isomerism and abnormal placement of vascular tracts, possibly the result of unregulated expression of LEFTY2 and NODAL.
