(PKB ?) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 14q32. It is highly expressed in liver, muscle and adipocytes. The encoded protein is a member of AKT family, which is characterized with an amino-terminal pleckstrin homology (PH) domain, a short ?-helical linker and a carboxyl-terminal kinase domain.
