Descrição detalhada : Phosphatidylcholine (PC) (Lecithins) is a zwitterion with a quaternary ammonium group and a phosphate moiety in its structure. PC generally possesses saturated fatty acid in the sn-1 position and unsaturated fatty acid at sn-2 position. PC is a strong bilayer forming lipid, present abundantly in mammalian membranes. cytidine diphosphate-choline (CDP-choline) is the precursor for PC synthesis. Selective deuteration of this lipid may have applications in structural studies using techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), neutron reflectivity and small-angle neutron scattering.
