Descrição detalhada : Melatonin (MT) is metabolized into several derivatives, including N1-acetyl-N2-formyl-5-methoxykynuramine (AFMK), N1-acetyl-5-methoxykynuramine (AMK), 6-hydroxymelatonin, 2-hydroxymelatonin, 3-hydroxymelatonin, and cyclic 3-hydroxymelatonin. MT and its metabolites are being studied for their antioxidant properties and their protective effects against oxidative stress in both mammals and in plants.
