It is responsible for possessing the complex type of glycans., ?1-Acid Glycoprotein (AGP, orosomucoid) from bovine plasma belongs to 'lipocalins? family which binds and transports small hydrophobic molecules. AGP is further classified into the subfamily 'immunocalins? which immunomodulates the inflammatory reactions. AGP is primarily produced in the liver, in few extra hepatic tissues and is present in neutrophil granules. Healthy cattle possesses 0.3 mg of AGP/ ml of concentrated serum.
