It also contains an N-terminal domain with the guanine nucleotide-binding region, an intermediate domain with taxol-binding site and a C-terminal domain that contains the binding surface for molecular motor proteins. Human ?-tubulin consists of seven isoforms (?I (class I), ?II (class II), ?III (class III), ?IVa (class IVa), ?IVb (class IVb), ?V (class V) and ?VI (class VI))., Tubulin ?III (TUBB3) is a constituent of microtubules. It is expressed in mature neurons. It is located on human chromosome 16q24.
