It is a peripheral membrane protein associated with the cytoplasmic face of early endosomes. EEA1 is a autoantigen associated with subacute cutaneous systemic lupus erythematosus and is a coiled-coil protein localized to early endosomes and cytosol., Monoclonal Anti-EEA1 (mouse IgG2a isotype) is derived from the hybridoma EEA1-N19 produced by the fusion of mouse myeloma cells and splenocytes from BALB/c mice immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding to a fragment of human EEA1. Early Endosome Antigen 1 (EEA1) is a dimer. It comprises extensive coiled-coil regions, and at its C-terminus contains a cysteine-rich zinc-finger-like domain named FYVE domain.
