Descrição detalhada : Argonaute 3, RISC catalytic component (Ago3), also known as eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C, 3 (EIF2C3), is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 1p34.3. The encoded protein belongs to the argonaute family of proteins and is characterized with a PAZ (Piwi/Argonaute/Zwille) domain and PIWI domains., Anti-eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2C 3 (EIF2C3)/protein argonaute-3 (Ago3) is developed in rabbit using as immunogen a synthetic peptide corresponding to human EIF2C3/Ago3 conjugated to KLH. Argonaute proteins (molecular mass 100 kDa) are characterized by piwi-argonaute-zwille (PAZ) and PIWI domains. Ago subfamily consists of four members, hsAgo1-4. hsAgo2 and Ago3 associate primarily with miRNA. Ago proteins localize to the cytoplasm of somatic cells and are concentrated in cytoplasmic processing bodies. A member of this group, Ago1, is associated with the Golgi and endoplasmic reticulum. The gene is located on chromosome 1 in a cluster of closely related family members including Ago 1 and Ago 4.
