Descrição detalhada : Formin-homology-2-domain containing protein 1 (FHOD1) is a member of the forming homology (FH) family, a group of proteins that act to regulate several cellular processes such as; embryonic patterning, cell survival, cytoskeletal organization, gene transcription and migration. FH proteins are able to regulate these processes through their interaction with actin binding proteins and by serving to bridge Rho-family GTPases with Src tyrosine kinase and the pathway for Wnt Signaling. As a member of the FH family, FHOD1 contains several characteristic domains including; a GTPase Binding Domain (GBD, a coiled coil, FH1 and FH2 domains, and a Diaphanous-like autoregulatory domain (DAD). FHOD1 is a necessary component in F-actin structure assembly and its activity is dependant on the RHO-Rock. Expression of FHOD1 is ubiquitous, but is highest in the spleen.
