Descrição detalhada : Forkhead box protein C1 (FOXC1) is a member of the family of forkhead transcription factors. These proteins are characterized by the forkhead domain--a 110 amino acid domain that binds to DNA molecules. FOXC1 has been implicated in the development of the eye; disruption of the FOXC1 gene has been linked to a number of glaucoma-related diseases such as Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome.
