Descrição detalhada : Notch signaling is a well conserved among the metazoans and is a regulator of growth, differentiation, and patterning processes. One of the ligands of Notch family receptors is Jagged. Mammalian Jagged family comprises of Jagged-1 and Jagged-2. Jagged proteins are expressed during the critical stages of embryonic and postnatal development. The Notch-Jagged signaling regulates the proliferation of endothelial cells, apoptosis, differentiation of hematopoietic progenitors, skeletal development and formation and differentiation of blood vessels. Notch-jagged pathway components play important role in the pathology of diseases like Alagille syndrome, CADASIL (cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy) and osteosarcoma. Anti-Jagged 1 antibody specifically recognizes rat Jagged-1.
