Descrição detalhada : Melanin Concentrating Hormone Receptor type 2 (MCH-R2) is a G-protein coupled receptor with seven transmembrane domains. MCH-R2 is 340 amino acids in length (approximately 39 kDa) and shares approximately 38% amino acid identity with MCH-R1. Like MCH-R1, it binds MCH with high affinity. However, reports indicate that signaling through this receptor is pertussis insensitive, contrary to MCH-R1. Expression of MCH-R2 mRNA is restricted to several regions of the brain, including the arcuate nucleus and the ventral medial hypothalamous (Sailer, 2001).
