Descrição detalhada : The PDE11A gene encodes for a dual-specificity Phosphodiesterase (PDE), which is expressed in the adrenal cortex and is partially inhibited by tadalafil and other PDE inhibitors. PDEs are known to catalyze cAMP and cGMP to 5'-AMP and 5'GMP, respectively and thereby regulate the intracellular concentration of these nucleotides. Loss-of-function mutation of the PDE11A gene is shown to increase cAMP signaling and cAMP-responsive element binding protein (CREB) phosphorylation, two conditions which are associated with adrenocortical hyperplasia, adenomas, and Cushing syndrome.
