Descrição detalhada : Polypyrimidine tract-binding protein 2 (PTBP2) is also known as Neural polypyrimidine tract-binding protein, Neurally-enriched homolog of PTB and PTB-like protein. PTBP2 is a RNA-binding protein which targets intronic polypyrimidines and negatively regulates pre-mRNA, exonic splicing. PTBP2 also has a role in translational regulation. PTBP2 is mainly expressed in brain, but is also found in heart and skeletal muscle. Isoforms 1 and 2 are specifically expressed in neuronal tissues.
