Anti-RAD51 Antibody

Descrição detalhada : RAD51 (previously known as DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 1) is a member of the Rec A family involved in DNA repair. RAD51 interacts with BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are both involved with breast cancer, to activate homologous recombination and DNA damage repair. BRCA1 appears to be present in heredity forms of breast cancer that results in the transition of G to A on codon 150, thereby converting ARG to GLN. BRCA2 regulates intercellular localization and DNA binding ability. Loss of BRCA2 results in genomic instability and tumorgenesis. RAD51 acts as ATPase to repair double strand breaks and also unwinds DNA to form a helical nucleoprotein filament. RAD51 is predominantly expressed in the testis and thymus but can also be found in the small intestine, placenta, colon, pancreas and ovaries.
