Descrição detalhada : Tight junction protein 1/Zona occludens 1 protein (TJP1, ZO-1) is a membrane-associated guanylate kinase, associated with cytoplasmic membrane surface of intercellular tight junctions. ZO-1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 15q13.1. It comprises a guanylate kinase (GUK) domain, three postsynaptic density 95/disc-large/ZO-1 (PDZ) domains, a Src homology 3 domain, actin-binding region and an acidic domain. ZO-1 is observed in the tight junctions associated with epithelia and endothelia.
