Descrição detalhada : Cell cycle control protein 50A (UniProt: Q17QL5; also known as P4-ATPase flippase complex beta subunit TMEM30A, Transmembrane protein 30A) is encoded by the TMEM30A gene (Gene ID: 505797) in bovine species. TMEM30A is a multi-pass membrane protein with two cytoplasmic domains, two transmembrane domains, and one extracellular domain. It is expressed in photoreceptor cells and is detected in retina outer segment and other retinal layers. It is a component of various P4-ATPase flippase complexes, which consists of a catalytic -subunit and an accessory ?-subunit. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled to the transport of aminophospholipids from the outer to the inner leaflet of various membranes and ensures the maintenance of asymmetric distribution of phospholipids. The ?-subunit may assist in binding of the phospholipid substrate. Most P4-ATPases associate with one of three accessory subunit isoforms known as CDC50A (TMEM30A), CDC50B (TMEM30B), and CDC50C (TMEM30C). TMEM30A is required for the proper folding, assembly and endoplasmic reticulum (ER) to Golgi exit of the ATP8A2:TMEM30A flippase complex. This ATP8A2:TMEM30A complex may be involved in regulation of neurite outgrowth. It is also involved in the uptake of platelet-activating factor (PAF). (Ref.: Liou, AY., et al. (2019). J. Biol.
