Descrição detalhada : Mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM20 homolog (TOM20 or TOMM20), also known as mitochondrial 20 kDa outer membrane protein or outer mitochondrial membrane receptor Tom20, is a central component of the pre-protein translocase complex of the outer mitochondrial membrane (TOM complex) which is responsible for the recognition and translocation of cytosolically synthesized mitochondrial pre-proteins. The TOM complex consists of at least 7 different proteins (TOMM5, TOMM6, TOMM7, TOMM20, TOMM22, TOMM40 and TOMM70). TOM20 interacts with TOM22 and facilitates the movement of pre-proteins into the TOM40 translocation pore. Also interacts with APEX1.
