This peptide is reported to block eNOS activity and cellular NO release in vitro and reduce inflammation and tumorigenesis in vivo. Caveolin-1 interacts with several lipid-modified signaling ligands, such as EGFR, eNOS, G-protein alpha-subunits, PKCalpha, H-Ras, and Src, via the C1-SD82-101 sequence.
