The qPCR protocol and primer sequences are provided, allowing researchers to validate ChIP protocols when using our antibody in their chromatin context. Each set also includes a negative control antibody to ensure specificity of the ChIP reaction. The ChIPAb+ Androgen Receptor set includes the Androgen Receptor antibody, a Normal Rabbit IgG, and control primers which amplify a 85 bp region of the human prostate specific antigen (PSA) enhancer region. The Androgen Receptor antibody and negative controls are supplied in a scalable "per ChIP" reaction size and can be used to functionally validate the precipitation of Androgen Receptor associated chromatin., The androgen receptor (AR) is a type of nuclear receptor which is activated by binding of either of the androgenic hormones testosterone or dihydrotestosterone. The main function of the androgen receptor is as a DNA binding transcription factor which regulates gene expression. However the androgen receptor also has additional functions independent of DNA binding. The androgen receptor is most closely related to the progesterone receptor, and progestins in higher dosages can block the androgen receptor.
