Descrição detalhada : Clusterin is expressed in all tissues. However, it is strongly expressed in the central nervous system and plasma. Clusterin mainly protects against heat and other stress. It is also referred as chaperone protein and stress-inducible biomarker. Clusterin exists in two isoforms, one is a secretory form and other is a nuclear form. The secreted form of the protein is a 80kDa disulfide-linked heterodimer of ? and ? subunits (produced by internal cleavage). The alternatively spliced inactive cytosolic form is changed to a truncated mature nuclear isoform via ionizing irradiation.
