Descrição detalhada : Virgin coconut oil (VCO) is obtained from the fresh mature kernel of Cocos nucifera. It is mainly composed of lauric acid, which is responsible for most of its physiological and metabolic properties. VCO shows better antioxidant capacity when compared to refined, bleached and deodorized coconut oil due to the presence of higher amount of phenolic compounds such as ferulic acid and p-coumaric acid.
