CSB (Cronobacter Selective Broth)

Descrição detalhada : Cronobacter Selective Broth (CSB) contains high nutrient content with an enzymatic digest of animal tissue and meat extract creating good growth conditions for Cronobacter. Vancomycin inhibits the growth of Gram-positive flora, and sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance of the medium. Upon fermentation of sucrose, Cronobacter produces a color change of the bromocresol indicator. However, this reaction is not always positive for Cronobacter in the given incubation time. Hence, it is necessary that every selective enrichment in CSB must be sub-cultured on Chromogenic Cronobacter Isolation (CCI) agar regardless of its color change.
