It is a glycosylated protein comprising galactose, galactosamine, and sialic acid. It exists as tri- or tetrasaccharides and occurs in different isoforms based on the number of oligosaccharides attached to it. ?-Casein has a hydrophobic N-terminus and a hydrophilic C-terminus region.
