Descrição detalhada : The MacConkey Broth supports the growth of most Gram-negative bacteria, while it inhibits the growth of Gram-positive bacteria due to the presence of bile salts. Bacteria that degrade lactose to acids induce a color change in the medium from violet to yellow. The change in color is indicated by the pH indicator bromocresol purple, which shows reduced inhibition compared to neutral red.
