mEHEC(R) Broth

Descrição detalhada : mEHEC(R) Broth is a dehydrated granular culture medium used for selective enrichment of E. coli O157:H7, E. coli non-O157:H7 STEC, and Salmonella spp. in select food samples. The media contains tryptone that provides nitrogenous and carbonaceous compounds, long chain amino acids and other essential growth nutrients. Lactose is a fermentable sugar. Bile salts mixture inhibits gram-positive bacteria, especially bacilli and fecal Streptococci. Phosphates control the pH during the fermentation of lactose. Gas production in a fermentation tube within 24 hours or less is presumptive evidence of the presence of coliform bacteria.
