Descrição detalhada : Methylglyoxal (MG) is a glucose metabolite, which is linked to peripheral neuropathy and pain in diabetic patients. It enhances intracellular calcium in sensory neurons and produces behavioral nociception. Methylglyoxal has antibacterial property. MG functions as a protein-glycating agent and precursor of advanced glycation end products. It impairs diabetic wound healing.
