CTNNB1 (catenin ? 1) gene is mapped to human chromosome 3p21. The protein encoded is also called as cadherin-associated protein.The encoded protein ?-catenin is localized to the nucleus. Monoclonal antibody reacting specifically with ? -catenin is an essential tool in defining the interactions and distributions of ? -catenin and its relationships with other catenins and cadherins in various cells and tissues.
