Descrição detalhada : Vimentin belongs to the class of type III intermediate filament protein family. The gene is located on human chromosome 10p13. It is a cytoskeletal protein. Vimentin is mainly expressed in normal mesenchymal cells., Vimentin is a 58 kD class III intermediate filament present mainly in mesenchymal cells. It regulates cell shape, motility and endurance of mechanical stress in mesenchymal cells. Monoclonal anti-vimentin antibody can be used for the localization of vimentin by various immunochemical assays like immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry and immunoprecipitation. Frozen B5 fixed and formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue sections can be stained using anti-vimentin antibody. Mouse monoclonal anti-vimentin antibody reacts specifically with an epitope of the cytoskeletal protein vimentin (58kD). The product shows cross reactivity with vimentin from bovine, human, pig, sheep, cat, rat, mouse and rabbit.
