It reacts with the mutant as well as wild type p53, although significant accumulation of the mutant form of p53 protein due to longer half-life is the basis for the test using the IHC technique. Nuclear staining with this antibody has been shown in breast carcinoma, lung carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, and urothelial carcinoma.
