Inhibits the expression of COX-2 and proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-alpha and IL-1) in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Also inhibits NF-kappaB and activation of MAP kinase., A cell-permeable sesquiterpene lactone with anti-inflammatory, antisecretory, and spasmolytic properties.
