Descrição detalhada : Buffered peptone water being suitable as first diluent is helpful since the same homogenate can be used for detection of other microorganisms. Pre-enrichment of the culture media is performed using buffered peptone water to increase target concentration and improve sensitivity. It is also useful for the non-selective pre-enrichment of media for bacteria, in particular pathogenic members of the Enterobacteriaceae (sub-lethal damaged), from food and other material.
