It is a protein consisting of 267 amino acids (including an N-terminal polyhistidine tag), with a calculated molecular mass of 28 kDa. SILu Lite IGFBP7 is an analytical standard designed to be used as starting material for preparation of calibrators and controls in LC-MS applications., IGFBP7 (insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7) belongs to the IGFBP superfamily and is widely expressed in tissues. It contains 11 cysteines, a heparin binding site, a kazal-type trypsin inhibitor domain and a carboxyl-terminal immunoglobulin-like type C repeat. IGFBP7 binds weakly to IGFs (insulin like growth factors) and strongly to insulin. It mainly participates in IGF-independent pathways. The IGFBP7 gene is mapped to human chromosome 4q12.
