Descrição detalhada : TNFAIP3/mA20, also known as Tumor necrosis factor alpha-induced protein 3, OTU domain-containing protein 7C, Putative DNA-binding protein A20, or Zinc finger protein A20, and encoded by the gene TNFAIP3/OTUD7C, is an ubiquitin editing enzyme that contains both ubiquitin ligase and deubiquitinase activities. TNFAIP3/mA20 is involved in immune and inflammatory responses signaled by cytokines or pathogens through the Toll-like receptors and ultimately regulating NF-kappa-B activity. TNFAIP3/mA20 is an essential component of the ubiquitin editing protein complex consisting of RNF11, ICTH, and TAX1BP1 and ensures the transient nature of inflammatory signaling. TNFAIP3/mA20 is also a key player in switching of Lys-63 polyubiquitinated chains to Lys-48 polyubiquitinated chains for the subsequent degradation of specific targets as well. TNFAIP3/mA20 is located in the cytoplasm but can be found in the nucleus and lysosome depending upon the microenvironment and stimulus.
