This semicarbazone compound effectively controls most lepidopterous pests and certain pests in the orders Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, Diptera, Isoptera, and Siphonaptera in cotton, tuberous vegetables, brassicas, leafy, and fruiting vegetables. Metaflumizone provides long-lasting control of fleas on animals with a single spot-on application. According to Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 (repealing Directive 91/414/EEC) metaflumizone is approved for use in European Union (EU). A maximum residue limit (MRL) for metaflumizone (sum of E- and Z- isomers) is set according to Reg. (EU) No 318/2014 from 0.05 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg for plants-based products and 0.02 mg/kg to 0.1 mg/kg for products derived from animals.Metaflumizone has to be monitored in the Multiannual Control Programme for Pesticides Residues (MACP), run within the EU and EFTA in/on products of plant origin.
