It is a selective herbicide, absorbed primarily through roots and to a lesser extent by leaves. It is used to control broad-leaved and grass weeds in cereals, legumes, maize, garlic, and onions.According to the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2006/302, methabenzthiazuron is not approved for use in the European Union (EU) as a plant protection agent, following the Regulation (EC) No. 1107/2009.
