It interacts with the steroidal receptors in lepidopterans larvae and produces lethal moulting.Tebufenozide was allowed for use in the European Union as a plant protection agent as per the Commission Implementing Directive 2011/60/EU of 23rd May 201, repealing the Directive 91/414/EEC. A maximum residue limit (MRL) of 2 mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg is set for the presence of tebufenozide in fresh/frozen fruits and tree nuts respectively according to the Reg. (EU) 2021/1807.
